  • Am I stuck out there?

This is a completely voluntary experience, meaning, if at any point you feel the need to no longer be on your solo, you will be able to get in contact with the leaders of the wilderness solo experience and end your solo.

  • Can I bring my dog?

We do not allow pets to accompany the wilderness solo, However, Marisa does bring her dog out into the wilderness with the team.

  • Will I see anyone while I am out on my solo, am I alone at this event?

Solitude is a 3-day event where we have 2 of the days based around togetherness, intention setting, and hanging out with one another. There is a 24-30 hour period of time where you will be on your actual “solo” where we will be out of eyesight of each other. This is the space that you have that is just for you. We check up on everyone once each day and every person can opt into be checked on more often based on comfort levels.

  • What happens in an emergency?

All staff who will be working with you on your wilderness solo will have up-to-date CPR and Wilderness First Responder certifications. An emergency protocol will be put in place and everyone will understand what to do in the case of an emergency.

  • What will the meals be like?

Meals will vary depending on the time of year with seasonal fruits and vegetables, and availability. All community meals will be homemade with sustainable meat and organic produce. The hope of community meals is to create a space for relaxed talk and care for nourishing our bodies before, during, and after the solo experience. We will be in communication regarding any dietary restrictions you may have in order to offer nutritious and tasty substitutes.

  • What are the logistics for getting there?

The events always run Thursday, Friday, Saturday. This allows you to fly in Wednesday evening to either St. George or Las Vegas and then be able to meet us at the location on Thursday, the first day of the event. All meals and gear are taken care of and all you need to arrive with is your clothes and a water bottle.
